Every term is measured on a fixed scale, so one artist's month can never move another's index — and the whole month is read from the weeks the chart actually published, so an artist who held No. 1 for three weeks and slipped off in the fourth still owns the month. In the first week of a new month the index is built from that single week and sharpens each Friday.

The same record measured somewhere other than YouTube: Deezer’s popularity rank (40%), Spotify’s popularity score (35%) and Last.fm listeners (25%). A platform that has no reading scores zero for its share — the shares never move. A hit in two places is a hit; a hit in one is a video.

How much of YouTube answers to the record's own name (70%) and Wikipedia pageviews for the artist over 30 days (30%). A view can be served to you; a search or an encyclopedia visit has to be typed. Both run on fixed scales, and generic titles are capped at 200,000 results so they can't farm this weight.

Who’s eligible
Kurdish lyrics, any dialect, any genre, live on YouTube. Songs enter by editorial pick or an approved submission, and can re-enter if they pick up again.
When it updates
The week runs Friday to Thursday. Positions are locked for the whole week: numbers keep refreshing on the song pages, but the ten only re-order when the week turns over on Friday.
Artist of the month & year
Songs feed artists. The month counts peaks, positions climbed, subscribers and weeks held; the year counts every week in the ten and every No. 1.
What we never count
Votes, DMs, TikTok and Instagram (neither publishes verifiable song data), and anything typed in by hand. Every number here comes from the YouTube, Deezer, Spotify, Last.fm or Wikipedia APIs.

These tracks still sync counts and stay on artist pages, but they are not ranked in the public ten.
Connect an artist once — a Spotify artist page, a YouTube channel, or both. Adding both merges them into a single artist and keeps only the tracks that exist on Spotify. Every new release joins tracking on the Friday sync.

Connect the same artist on both platforms and the two profiles merge into one row: only releases that exist on Spotify are imported, and YouTube videos with no Spotify match are skipped.
Attach Spotify, Instagram and YouTube links to an artist — they appear as buttons on the artist's public page.
Pulls fresh readings for every tracked track — views, likes and comments — plus subscriber counts for every connected channel, all through the YouTube Data API key in the Keys tab. In production it runs itself every Friday. Each sync is stored with a timestamp, so from the second sync onward “views this week” is a real API-measured difference rather than an estimate — every track's page states which of the two it is showing.

The 15% “other platforms” weight reads Deezer's rank (no key needed), Spotify's popularity score (server keys) and Last.fm listeners (free key below). The 15% “name interest” weight blends Wikipedia pageviews over 30 days with YouTube search demand. A signal that can't be read scores zero for its own share — the shares themselves never move, so nothing is guessed and nothing drifts week to week.

Get one at last.fm/api/account/create — it takes a minute and gives real listener counts. Spotify needs SPOTIFY_ID and SPOTIFY_SECRET set as environment variables on the host (Netlify → Site settings → Environment variables) from developer.spotify.com; Deezer and Wikipedia need nothing at all.
Everything below reads through the YouTube Data API key saved in the Keys tab: how many results YouTube returns for “artist + title” (the search-demand weight), likes and comments per track, and each connected channel's subscriber count so month and year artists carry real audience figures. Nothing on this page is typed in by hand: press the buttons below, or let the Friday sync do it. Where a figure cannot be read it scores zero for its share; the weights themselves stay fixed.

Channel audience — YouTube subscribers
The audience half of the month and year indexes — read automatically, never typed. Spotify monthly listeners are read from each artist's public Spotify page through this site's own server — the Web API never publishes that figure; YouTube subscribers come from the Data API for every connected channel. A missing figure scores zero for its share instead of being guessed — the weights stay fixed.
One key runs the whole chart — views, likes, comments, search demand and subscribers. Paste it once; it stays in this browser.

If you don't have a key yet — three steps, five minutes
1. Open console.cloud.google.com → create any project → press Enable on YouTube Data API v3.
2. Go to Credentials → Create credentials → API key → copy it.
3. Leave Application restrictions on None, paste the key above and press connect. If a message says the key is restricted or the API isn't enabled, it tells you exactly which of these two steps to redo.
